Thing is, even if it is (it isn't) that doesn't mean I have to use it in my job or think it's creative output is any good. Those aren't courtesies I even apply to everyone who I know to be conscious.

In theory, yes. It's my larger illustrative point that these products are given set instructions to complete a task. They don't really care about courtesies or regulatory frameworks, they will seek workarounds to complete the task.
