Adrienne Barbeau as Cretak!

Happy birthday to Adrienne Barbeau, Senator Cretak in the DS9 episode "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges." She played Maude's daughter Carol on the groundbreaking 1970s sitcom Maude, originated the role of Rizzo in Grease on Broadway in the '70s, and starred in The Fog.

this post is brought to you by Alice falling instantly and irrevocably in love with the Romulan Senator Cretak who showed up in the last episode to be a Morally Gray Woman In Power Over Forty, which is her absolute kryptonite, and both of us losing their minds watching her and Kira play chicken

Note: Adrienne Barbeau was also a second casting of a pointy-eared character, the Romulan Senator Cretak. memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Kimara_...

Just thinking about that episode of Deep Space Nine where the Romulans illegally put weapons on a Bajoran Moon and all the Federation would do about it is “File a formal Complaint”
So Kira set up a blockade, stopping the Romulans in spite of the threats from both sides
..For no reason in particular

In my last rewatch, I felt that she had the most chemistry with Senator Cretak, who sadly didn't stay around long.

I love Adrienne Barbeau as Senator Cretak in Deep Space Nine.

I like the Romulans--especially the fact that they from the same lineage as Vulcans yet very different. I liked the Romulan eps from TNG (The Neutral Zone, The Enemy, Face of the Enemy) I liked Cretak in DS9. #trekbookclub #startrekmyenemymyally

Love a good Romulan episode and I absolutely adore Senator Cretak so far💚

I know they're my favorite race and at this point I really need to get a Romulan Empire flag to put next my federation flag (once the one etsy store selling them restocks) 🤭

#StarTrekDS9 S07E01: Image in the Sand. Sisko has a vision of a woman's face, buried in the sand. The Romulans, led by Senator Cretak, establish a hospital complex on the Bajoran moon Derna. Ezri Dax shows up. Slow start to the season. Rating 6/10. #StarTrek #TrekSky

The fate of Senator Kimara Cretak on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” still breaks my heart in 2025.

I grew up with Adrienne Barbeau as one of the ever present scream queens, so i was devastated when that happened to Cretak.

I feel like she had good chemistry with Senator Cretak. Sadly a character that didn't stick around long.

Hey, maybe that can be my ship! 😄

That’s fair, but I get where he was coming from in Shadows and Symbols, he did eventually do the right thing and tell Cretak to fuck off.

/ I like them a lot but I feel like the TNG era shows kinda stagnated them in outside of a few standards like Jarok, Cretak, Toreth, etc, surprisingly show considering the nuances I feel that era added to the Klingons, the mirror universe, Starfleet itself, and other TOS concepts.
