Nice #cropmarks! Just south of Edinburgh. This was one of the first places we went looking for cropmarks when I worked with the RCAHMS aerial survey team in the 90s. Very clear triple palisaded enclosure, and two crossing pit alignments. Indicates later prehistoric settlement & land divisions.

One of a number of Bronze Age ring ditch cropmarks at University Parks @ox.ac.uk visible on the ground in parched conditions today. Many of these features can be seen on recent aerial + satellite imagery (eg Apple Maps) as weather extremes become more common #climate @unioxarchaeology.bsky.social

Nice confirmation from the #lidar that the New Brighton prehistoric enclosure in Flintshire really does exist as earthworks and not just as cropmarks. It is overlain by the tramway and spoil tips of a 19th c. colliery

Hello #archaeologists. . . I'm currently researching a patch of land in Somerset known to have an Iron Age/Romano-British settlement nearby, and stumbled across these cropmarks. There's nothing on the HER, and I wondered if anyone recognised them. See farm bottom left for scale.

Burgh Castle in Norfolk was built as part of the Roman network of coastal defences. It dates to the late 3rd century and probably was abandoned just over a hundred years later. It is today part of 'Saxon Shore' forts. Extensive cropmarks indicate a large vicus. #RomanFortThursday

I picked this spot because I found a satellite image of the Bronze Age enclosure cropmarks, then looked at the tithe map and found its boundary preserved in the field system, it’s also where the two ancient oaks Gog and Magog used to be, also the name Ridware is mixed Welsh and Saxon
