The gallows were probably built during the 15th century on the cliff, visible far from the town and the Baltic Sea. The executions were public events, often with a large audience. Hanging was the most common execution method in medieval times. Though horrible, the gallows is also a symbol of law and justice. It show that there has been a working judicial system on Gotland for a long time. The three stone pillars were united with beams where prisoners were hung in hooks and ropes. The bodies were often left hanging in the wind until they roted away or got eaten by birds to state an example. People who were executed were not allowed to be buried in the cemetery. They were often buried around the gallows, denied of peace in heaven for their eternal life. The last execution here took place the 5th of March 1845. It was the hat maker Anders Johan Hasselberg who was decapitated due to murder. Death penalty was completely abolished in Sweden in 1972. Not sure if maybe I want the gryphon head decoration under the first layer too? If so Il'l have to make the pillars taller, maybe add crossbeams?

I do feel that I'm fighting against the housing system by being unable to just group items and move them as one (the way I'd do for exmpl in Planet Zoo)

Case in point:
A weirdo building with three stories, each larger than the one below. There are tarred wooden beams and crossbeams, as well as diagonal beams, with the space in between filled with something like white plaster (whatever they had in medieval times) on the two bottom stories. The top story has only beams and crossbeams and the area between them is filled with red bricks. The bottom stories have a few small windows, with many tiny panes making up each one. The roof is terracotta panes.

6/24/20 Someone was living in the attic. It wasn’t as much an attic as a crawl-space. Not even that, more of a space over the rafters that wasn’t visible from the floor. Well, mostly not visible, but you could sort of see through the floorboards, which weren’t even really floorboards because it wasn’t a floor or a ceiling, just kinda some shelving haphazardly resting on the crossbeams upon which he stowed supplies. The cabin was small and cozy and held everything in it that Johann needed. He had a little stove for warmth, a little basin for washing, a lot of ammo and his rifle, a little garden out back to supplement his diet when the supplies from town and the fish from the lake didn’t satisfy. And someone in the attic.
