They also literally made it harder for pedestrians to push the crosswalk button as well
There are some unfortunate design mistakes from the Delridge Way rebuild, but this might be one of the dumbest. Where people originally could easily walk up to press the crosswalk button, it's now blocked by a raised curb.

Seems reasonable to say that if crosswalk lights & signs get taken out by a car they should be replaced with a stop sign until they're fixed.
Close the street to cars until the repairs are done. That should speed things up.

Pleased to report that this new tabled crosswalk on Saint Paul's Mississippi River Blvd works effectively to slow drivers down. It doesn't look super sharp, but I really wouldn't want to drive over it at more than 25mph. And yes the speed limit here is 20mph, but the design speed is 35mph.

A woman was killed in a crosswalk in Highland last week. Two nights ago my loved one was nearly crushed by a pickup towing a utility trailer--in the crosswalk. I'm not going to stop fighting for this simple safety measure until anyone in Saint Paul can defend their neighbors from drivers.

im sorry your dog got ran over mrs. jones but unfortunately if we put a stop sign at that crosswalk the people who dont want to stop their cars would just ignore it and then we'd be right back here again so why bother
