#cryptographic-fingerprints
I wrote a deep dive on CIDs, the self-describing cryptographic fingerprints behind every record, blob, commit, and Merkle tree node in ATProtocol. Part 1 covers the history, the encoding primitives, and the specific constraints ATProtocol applies.
CIDs: What You Need to Know and Why, Part 1
A deep dive into Content Identifiers, the self-describing cryptographic fingerprints that form the foundation of ATProtocol’s data model.

WOOT. Gossamer "ghosts" register WITHOUT any email, or login or password or ANYTHING but a -device-specific- cryptographic fingerprints

Gossamer Threads are set to auto-expire after 24 hours by default.

One of the problems of a "desktop" version, is that there is no login, no password, it is just cryptographic fingerprints of device ID. and I need to make sure that each one really is distinct.

nngh, have to job hunt, not look at this.

Detection tools use cryptographic hashes of known illegal images (digital fingerprints), plus synthetic data and metadata patterns — not real photos. When politicians talk about ‘AI detecting child abuse,’ they mean hash‑matching and pattern recognition, not training models on illegal material.

9/ As deepfakes get better, detection methods must evolve too-or risk falling dangerously behind. No single detection method will win this race alone. The future may lie in digital fingerprints and cryptographic proofs that verify a video hasn’t been altered.
Deepfakes now come with a realistic heartbeat, making them harder to unmask
Current algorithms for the detection of deepfakes increasingly rely on remote pulse reading to distinguish them from genuine videos of people. Here, scientists

Thanks.

If you don't think 2-FA is a pain point, we obviously don't share the same world view!

What's going to happen when we need to authenticate AI agents - and differentiate them from one another?

Fingerprints? Or cryptographic keys?

Just a thought.

Post quantum security engineering and secure design / pen testing

There’s more to quantum security than is this cryptographic algorithm going to be secure.

I’m trying to suss out what true quantum security looks like in a distributed system like Zcash
