Then we went back to Manila. All along the way, I tried to imagine the logistics of getting even a single one of those gold bars from the jungle out to the nearest bank where it could be turned into something useful, like cash.
Let me transition to a Q&A format here:

He read Cryptonomicon? Okay, this is getting a little too targeted at my interests.

And why are they bringing their pantyhose fetish back into public? Can’t get enough restrictive plastic garment action at the tech-bro work-compelled orgy?

Dudes who took EVERYTHING in their personality from Cryptonomicon, example 24,543,689.
Why is billionaire-owned media suddenly coming all at once with pieces against drinking fluids. What is this manufacturing consent for. Is it building toward something. Should I be afraid

Imagine this being your takeaway from Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon and not the proper way to eat Captain Crunch cereal.

So - confession.

For all my love of cyberpunk, I never actually got around to reading Cryptonomicon. Kept meaning to and getting distracted.

I'm 200 pages in. Still have no idea where it's going, but it's an amazing read.

i read Cryptonomicon when i was 12 and it contains the cringiest sex scene in the world between two cryptography weirdos and i turned out fine

When I was 14 my mom said she didn't want me reading Silence of the Lambs so I rode my bike to the library and read it at there because teens love nothing more than saying "fuck you, mom".
