On #ThisDayInHistory in 1979, the #WhiteNightRiots occurred in #SanFrancisco. The #LGBTQ community was rightly furious that politician #DanWhite was convicted of manslaughter, not murder (and served just two years in prison) for assassinating #HarveyMilk and Mayor George Moscone.

People are resistant to being corrected with actual facts sometimes. I get it, we're mad about the $5M, but that is the wrong case to use as an example. The Harvey Milk trial "Twinkie defense" was more stupid. 1/
