Just spilled 6 fl oz of Monster Energy "GAMER FUEL" on my heirloom daskeyboard -- still with the original Cherry Brown switches. Father will be so incensed!

I stopped using this old DasKeyboard back when I switched to my current Corsair K65 TKL back in 2017. This has moved with me, unused from Seattle to Washington DC to Arizona to Hawaii.
Maaaay be about time to get rid of her... Unless I clean it up and bring it to work? 🤷♂️

New job, new notebook full of schemes and explorations. In a month it’ll all become a chaotic 5D structure living in my head — but that’s how my thinking process starts.

Does anyone have a good mechanical keyboard recommendation? I have a daskeyboard right now and it's awful. So looking to replace it with a good keyboard.

I also owned a DasKeyboard once with a black anodized aluminium shell. The part of that shell where I rested my palms turned green within 6 months.
Customer support told me this was normal and not covered by warranty because technically it's not made for prolonged skin contact. A keyboard.

I mean, I was almost genetically wedded to my DasKeyboard that I've had for the better part of two decades, but having used this one for half a day in anger I wouldn't go back.

Okay you know what fair point. But there is still irony in that so many printers are driverless but DasKeyboard legitimately made a keyboard (I daresay essential input device) that needs software with an online account to control its RGB settings.

built a keyboard (as in i plugged in 104 switches and 104 keycaps into a base) today, so that i could replace my aging daskeyboard, and I think i get the appeal now, even if i'm not anticipating diving headfirst into this as a hobby.

I'm still waiting for my daskeyboard from 2009 to break before buying a new mechanical.
I think I'm going to have to rely on #LongevityEscapeVelocity before I see its demise unless I experience an unfortunate close lightning strike.

It’s the same dilemma for new developers? Should they learn one or more programming languages? Hard to say. You can also dictate now. Many options. I did my journey on keyboard using those without letters. DasKeyboard if I remember well.

I put together my first "custom" keyboard with clicky switches today and OMG it sounds and feels so good why did I keep my old daskeyboard for so long before looking into this.
