“AI’s biggest impact in biology will come from its help “scaling scientific attention”: Setting agents loose on the enormous data sets can surface the outliers that warrant further human inspection.”

This is a laudable goal and not unhelpfully grandiose like claims of curing cancer.

Getting really tired of seeing those AI game mashups

And I'm not a really big fan of the idea of AI reverse engineering software, as it sets up the potential for literally every software company to cannibalize the works of others

We really need to destroy data centers and arrest AI CEOs now

Five steps take a folder to a site. catalog() starts a collection, acquire_package() and acquire_file() fill it, bind() builds the site, reading_room() previews it, and circulate_via_github() sets up publishing on GitHub Pages.

Watch it in 100 seconds.

imo in a world where everyone is rightfully worried about flock cameras & ad tech big data sets tracking them, a company like Apple can step up big into the anti-tracking space by fixing their current tracking vectors (#1 IDFA MAID, #2 cross-site fingerprinting domains, #3 more IP / VPN products)

5. Load all of the pieces into a Claude project
6. Use Claude to create SQL data sets that mimic the functionality of the old ones.
7. Validate the data
8. Use the validated SQL to create new reports based on successor system data.

Skeptics would say, "Now you don't know successor system details!"

Local elected official:

“I don’t want to fight for the maximum data center moratorium because we’d get sued and then we’d have a data center anyway”

Another:

“We can’t do anything because the state sets the rules.

Sorry!”

And these are the Democrats…

When Trump put Musk in charge of DOGE, Musk used a pack of hackers to collect our private information (DATA). Now Musk is in the Data business! I am sure he isn’t using the mother load of info his hackers collected! Ya right and the sun rises from the west and sets in the east!

“68% safer” is heavily editied- as researchers decided that only 22% of crashes were serious enough to report to police.

It’s fascinating to see "low-tech" data sets repurposed via LLMs. We’re essentially fine-tuning local environmental models with centuries of human observation. Data is data, regardless of the era. 🌾🤖
