#datalink
I always thought something like this with a couple of helmet slaved guns, a bunch of those new small guided AAMs and a datalink would be ideal

two-way datalink and an electro-optical/thermal-imaging seeker.

Yeah that's my understanding too, I know that's one of the advantages it has but I'm unsure of the reason an F15ex can't lock from datalink from an AWACS which presumably has a better radar. Terrain in some circumstances I guess.

If f-35 needed to dun through a dense a2a engagement, it could he leading with F-15EX’s behind ready to salvo a fuck ton of missiles with datalink, this way f-35 doesnt even need to engage and give themselves away

#VC10birthday Today is the anniversary of G-ASGH's first flight in 1965. This Super VC10 flew with BOAC and BA for 52862 flying hours and was used to test a Decca Omnitrack system as well as early datalink systems. It was scrapped in 1987 at RAF Abingdon. www.vc10.net/Airframes/cn...

I've watched $SAABF closely. Saab modernises AEW&C with GlobalEye: AESA, sensor fusion, datalink. Für Europa: Nachschub, sustainemnt, MRO entscheiden. Historical echo: Battle of Britain-Luftlage matters. SAAB-B.ST mispriced.

I pay pretty close attention but some of these studies were new to me.

Interestingly, Kennedy never once mentioned privacy and data security.

Iris scales across European aviation as Transavia equips its entire Airbus fleet ✈️

Transavia is equipping its entire Airbus fleet with Iris, the operational satellite-based datalink communication service that enables more #efficient communication between aircraft and air traffic control.

No need to turnaround, just check out their actual climb & maneuvering performance, radar signature and vulnerability to datalink jamming and make sure that their own jets and rockets are better

also impossible to maintain. The Spy4 surface and low altitude system was unique. It has already been built and installed when it was decided future carriers wouldn’t need it, because their escorts using datalink could provide the same cover and the Spy6 was doing much of the same job. So the entire

So onboard probabalistic analysis via information datalink and sensor fusion with a mission planner? Like that's a thing. F35 drivers do that. In this case they'd try to stick an (ugh) LLM in the middle to force drivers to (gag) vibepilot.
September 25, 2026 at 6:41 PM
No, that you're probably reading this on a device with high bandwidth datalink alongside a sensor suite including GPS+IMU for navigation and a high res camera that leans hard on machine learning to produce half decent pictures is not in anyway innocent. It is necessary though

Online fraud might be okay, but terminator or flying evil robot is mostly out of bounds for now. [If the handicap of a datalink and a datacenter is needed in masses.]
September 19, 2026 at 11:50 PM
I should add that there are ethical reasons for wanting human-in-the-loop, but for a loitering munition we are already deep into some gray areas ("what if the datalink is broken by EW?")
September 18, 2026 at 4:13 PM
If the Drone/AI is running on internal hardware (and possibly onboard sensors?) it only needs its' position not a datalink

If you want video to do damage assessment / propaganda sure then you need a datalink

I would assume that even with a datalink ought to carry forward if they lose connection

Crucially, VAERS alone never assessed vaccine safety. The US also used V-safe, the Vaccine Safety Datalink, clinical studies, electronic health records, and international surveillance systems.
Independent investigations in multiple countries reached similar conclusions:

The Whisper is the e-war variant of the Stiletto drone. Tracking radar, jammers, dedicated datalink and tracking radar, it allows the drones with weapons to achieve much greater accuracy and survivability

UK military drone having a bit of an issue with communication (squawk 7600) out of Akrotiri, likely a datalink issue.

There's still a place for the F15, unlike the A10, because its new upgrade is essentially a missile barge for F35s to guide things in via datalink without giving themselves away and to cut round the issue of them only being able to carry 4 amraams, but I think the strike eagles days are numbered
