DCS doing "cutscenes" by putting you into a scripted mission in a different camera is so cute

It'll feel instant for DCs like Dynamis. 🫠

Well @trinketbirdy.bsky.social tempted me and so I took a spin in an F-16C in DCS. Yeah. Note to self - learn how to fly it first. I felt like a toddler trying to drive a Ferrari. 😜

This week's DCS update brought two new fabulous campaigns: DCS: Su-25T Operation Red Storm by Ugra Media and DCS: F-14B(U) Speed & Angels by Reflected Simulations. These products include advances in AI, weapons, and module improvements. digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/chan...

Sourcing for any of the legacy hornets having been certified is weak...DCS (lol) says the C has a nuclear consent switch? But yeah if there's still a naval aviation capability to do this at all it's been kept very hush

From @laughlax.bsky.social, "BAAJA roughly promises that increased demand from large DCs means reduced wires/delivery costs for others, doesn't it?"

bsky.app/profile/kevi...
Good question from @laughlax.bsky.social on my BAAJA modeling.

The headline we hear from BAAJA proponents is that the bill would protect electricity ratepayers (aka, you) from subsidizing the costs of connecting data centers to the grid. However, I think the potential impacts are highly uncertain.
BAAJA roughly promises that increased demand from large DCs means reduced wires/delivery costs for others, doesn't it? Are you seeing that energy costs would increase more than those savings would?

the cost-efficacy benefit of open models is more that there is zero lock-in between model providers so there's basically full price elasticity, not really that you can run local (because dcs have cheaper power / have more throughput-efficient chips / can put you in batches)

DCS World round-up: G.91 update, Halloween sale, Speed & Angels, Tornado cockpit, more!
It's been a pretty busy week for DCS World news and I've got a round-up to track and tackle most of it. That includes updates on the DCS: G.91, new DCS: Tornado cockpit image, DCS: La-7 updates, a major DCS World update, and more! The latest on the G.91 The IndiaFoxtEcho DCS: G.91 project is progressing along with some aspects of its release becoming clearer thanks to the latest status update.

i just got off the phone with a guy that plays DCS and he said planes don’t just do that
November 2, 2026 at 3:45 AM
- if data centers somehow disappeared with no other alternative i think the economy would straight up collapse with no internet or no phone service etc
- the insanely fast no-thought building of hyperscale DCs with extremely short shelf lives and nonrenewable energy by like

Ooh, I missed that. Interesting.
I hope it's genuine as I've enjoyEd it.

Odd comment about DCs in their explanation. They do know that developing this increases traffic in DCs?

The changes to personal loot for Savage are awesome. Now with the merge of DCs for Party Finder, and hopefully some awesome Evolved job gameplay... Man, this next expansion is promising.

Although, given what DCS charges for planes, making them pay rent might be necessary redistribution... 🤔

if you love ai and dcs - this is the opportunity to make them sustainable and re-earn public trust

if you hate ai and dcs - this is the opportunity to encumber them with an insane amount of red tape

either way, participating in public demand for clean energy commits is a Good Deal
we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to force capital to do backflips in order to achieve their stated goals and we must leverage the shit out of it
the major AI labs want a coordinated slow down, so we should give it to them by implementing strict renewable energy demands upon them — it would be a win win for everyone
