#deleteUber (again). I always try to take local transit instead of ride hail — even if it takes longer, way longer. If you can afford ride hail you can afford the time to ride public transit. If the bus exists, ride it. Riding uber is funding a system of mobility haves and have nots.
Uber sent push notifications yesterday to its users in Illinois telling them to call their state reps and oppose transit funding. The bill then stalled in the House so now CTA is on track to close 4/8 'L' lines and discontinue 74/127 bus routes, absent emergency action from the legislature.

One thing I will remember until the day I die is how we brought Uber to its knees in 2017 with #deleteuber.

I think a lot about the #deleteuber thing during the airport protests in 2016. I think about how we brought an evil company to its knees and made their stock drop significantly then instead of ending them everyone just redownloaded Uber a few months later and they ended up choking out taxis anyway.
