No search lights, only basic spotting equipment. After the Skagerrak Battle, Kaiser & König class battleships were modified with the photoed heavy tube mast. Hindenburg & Derfflinger were given tripod masts.

Vulnerability of *British battlecruisers*. Derfflinger and Seydlitz suffered heavy damage from main battery shells and yet managed to retreat from the battle. And I guess you never heard about the operation Albion in the Baltic that Kaiserliche Marine carried out next year in the Baltic.
