Its nice that my mom has her like eveyr so often "calls to check on me cause she sees how evil the world is for a black woman and compounded on a black trans woman" and she wants to know im ok
but she like NEVER has never once asked me or even brought up the conversation of me detransitioning

I come out over and over because each year I allow myself to be a more complete picture of myself than I did the year before
I come out because people are starting to ask me if I'm "detransitioning" because a guy with a beard in a dress is inconceivable-

When my kid was going through transition at age 16 in Oregon the school had nothing to do with it & her healthcare provider said it was at least a year of taking hormones & doing social transition before she could commit to any surgeries. She’s now 22 & detransitioning.

This commercial was of a young trans gendered woman who I was assuming was detransitioning, talking about how her school convinced her to go through gender reassignment surgery at age 12, & I was like that is patently false. I don’t know shit about Ohio but that is absolutely false.

i hope not! but i never think of it as "detransitioning" (even by force), it's just a new phase in the walk of life you're on. nothing is ever permanent, especially if you don't want it to be... and it doesn't even make you even a shred less of a man! even cis men can and do have hormone struggles

the Nazis committed genocide against trans ppl. They made our healthcare & open existence illegal, forcibly detransitioning and imprisoning us. those who weren’t killed had life made unlivable. all of these things are explicitly stated goals by right wing think tanks such as the heritage foundation.

I don’t think I’d count as either transitioning or detransitioning, as my surgeries were for other “medical” reasons, my gender performance has always been mixed, etc. But this still hits for me, as I deeply explored transition options before deciding what felt right was to claim nonbinary status -

i think about detransitioning at least once a week and i feel fucking pathetic because in my mind i feel like at least my life is an egaging story of tragedy to those who knew me before can follow along with but im just not even sure what appeal i have to those who met me in the past 4 months

and i genuinely think i was worse off than the hypothetical. i got manipulated into detransitioning and being self-destructive, i pushed people away. it took my partner (who stayed by me the entire time) all but screaming for me to go, wow maybe the substance abuse/overuse isnt good for me actually
