On Labor Day, remember that as a developer, @realDonaldTrump would only use non union laborers, often failed to pay them for their work & violated contractual agreements. As POTUS, he's weakened workers' rights, union & non-union. He has the worst job growth history since Hoover.

Tell you what, as an extra bite of floor chicken, developer Poncle treats its staff with respect, doesn’t underpay, and is explicitly run in a manner counter to growth-obsessed corpo behemoths.

Oh, and it enjoys massive success that such behemoths want to copy but will never understand.

Dog if you are spending several hours a week on refactors and boilerplate, what you desperately need is more practice writing clean code. Using LLMs to skip that step isn't saving you time, it's hamstringing your growth as a developer.

"Bluesky’s 20 full-time employees have been working around the clock to deal with the issues that come with hypergrowth: site outages, glitches in the code and content moderation issues. Most importantly, they have been trying to keep early users happy..."

And they've done a great job too. 🙌

With AI agents' development, I'm feeling a dramatic change for my growth path as a software developer. And I think that's something contributing to the industry and Ruby community's anxiety/frustration too. So I wrote a post to capture my thoughts:

As usual, Danny hits the nail on the head. 🔨

I’ve had to fight this temptation myself. Cursor changes 50 lines and the lazy part of my brain says "I’m sure it’s fine, just accept the changes".

Seems like a great way to plateau in your growth as a developer. 😬
Tutorials used to create tutorial hell, but I feel like after quite a few recent conversations, there is a new "hell" for beginners.

ChatGPT Hell.

I am meeting so many beginners that rely on ChatGPT to deliver all of the code and answers but they do not know what is going:

you want to encourage healthy skepticism because that fosters growth through self-examination, yes. but it’s just stupid to try stoking skepticism about things that are extremely achievable, and have recently been done, when the mayor isn’t a republican cop pro-developer scumbag.
