a male miqo'te with a pitch black coeurl behind him and further back a grave marker. the miqo'te stands in the snow in the dead of night, a blizzard forming, and looks over his shoulder at the viewer. his eyes and most of his expression remain unseen, hidden by his hair.

"Breathe, [little flame]," the Shade whispered, his lips close enough for Zhyk to feel the warmth as he spoke. A ghost, a vision, a trick, what did it matter? Slowly, he allowed himself to lean into Temur's side and the Shade shifted to allow him. "I keep trying to come to you, but I've not found a way yet." An admission kept close to the heart, something dreadful and pitiable, the desperate desire to destroy oneself. But if he could be rid of his pact, it was worth the price. …wasn't it?

She gave a small bow in greeting, sweeping her black robe in a mock curtsy. "I have seen you before among the mortals who make merry this day. But this…" She made a small gesture with her hand, as if to touch something unseen near him. "…heh, do not overextend your welcome, brother. This is a time for all to partake; you will not gorge yourself under my watch." Zhyk regarded the woman suspiciously, eyes narrowing as she spoke. That shock of fear returned, becoming a twisting in his belly. On instinct he sniffed the air, following imperceptible strands of aether to— Oh. A voidsent.

The hum becomes a song, his blood begins to sing, and he can't help but listen to the siren's call this time with how near he is to it. His fangs sink into soft, pliable flesh, piercing the barrier between him and sweet ambrosia. But it's not as decadent a taste when the aether hits his tongue. The chorus rises as the scent of mildew overpowers him, released by the bite. Copper and chalky bitterness coat his mouth. He shuts his eyes as the world grows hazy like a heat shimmer causing his sight to muddle, the fluoresce of aether-infused objects a faint glow behind his eyelids. He feels warm. No, he feels hot. Blistering. Burning. But still he feeds.
