Mentioned this before but love talking about it!

Zhyk: purple hyacinths (sorrow, regret, forgiveness) and a single white calla lily (funerals, devotion, resurrection, life).

Vachir: black prince snapdragons (strength, grace, protection, deception) and roses (elegance, passion)

Zhyk: His own two feet. Sometimes a chocobo porter when he feels like spending the coin or whatever ride his work supplies, such as a break in the back of a merchant's cart.

Vachir: Once it was a large stallion. These days it's usually aetherytes, walking, and carriages.

Zhyk first learned hunting and survival skills from his mother, Sehya—about flora and fauna, stealth, crafting weapons from his surroundings, shooting a bow, handle a knife...

Later Lucent taught him how to wield his axe, combat driven by (dragonsong) war, and contract/mercenary work. #zhyklore

J'yhuh did 🥰

I've mentioned recently how Zhyk perceives relationships, but whatever fond feelings he started to have were ones he buried and diverted out of fear. J'yhuh's persistence in simply being there & providing a shoulder for Zhyk to lean on was key to Zhyk trusting him. #zhyklore #wildspark

Zhyk's starter glam was a sleeveless tanktop & vest, thigh-high sabatons, & his signature field dressing. It's funny to me due to how cold he is all the time that he'd wear that instead of layers, but I imagine heading south to warmer climes he was trying to feel "normal" then. #zhyklore

Zhyk's active around the clock, though not of his own choice. It depends on the job he's taken on and how much sleep he's able to get (he's a restless sleeper and prone to nightmares). When he's doing well, he's active from 10am to the wee hours of the morning. #zhyklore

Part of Zhyk's history leaves him with difficulty accepting other people getting harmed in his stead so the Mt. Gulg situation was a pretty big upset for Zhyk. Combine that with the later idolizing and Z had to create some semblance of distance for his own health. #zhyklore

After Zhyk scares the living daylights out of J'yhuh, J'yhuh realizes that the "blood" on Zhyk's face is not what it appears to be... 🍓🐈‍⬛

Zhyk and J'yhuh seen from the side during All Saints' Wake, dressed up in costumes (Zhyk as something voidsent adjacent and J'yhuh as a hunter). J'yhuh wears a small grin on his face as he carefully cups the side of Zhyk's face, thumb hovering over smears of red that look like blood. Zhyk appears sheepish with a faint blush as he rubs the back of his head with one hand. J'yhuh asks: "Is this... rolanberry?" Zhyk replies: "...it might be."

#AutumnRepost Day 10: Reunion

This is an early set from 2021 (apologies that these reposts are so old). I'm still fond of it & want to recreate it one day—Zhyk meeting his mother after 20+ years. The last time they spoke he was maybe 12.

✦ #gpose 🪻 #gposers 🪻 #zhyklore ✦
A pair of miqo'te stand in a small clearing of a forest, one male (Zhyk) and one female (Sehya). Zhyk stands with his head slightly bowed, his back to the viewer. Sehya stands before him, one hand raised to rest against his cheek. The view is offset as if noticing a private moment. A close-up of the prior shot now from the side, showing as Zhyk holds the hand that rests on his cheek. His ears and his gaze are lowered, sorrowful. The view pans back a bit to show Sehya's expression better, stalwart yet with a touch of something soft, regret and fondness intertwined. A slight change in perspective to highlight further Sehya's expression, her palm cupping Zhyk's face, and Zhyk's hand clasped around hers.

J'yhuh Tia pauses in the middle of a dark forest, one fist raised to his jaw in silent contemplation. Behind him is the full moon and night sky, as well as a large, gnarled tree, its branched nearly divested of all its leaves. In a hollow at the top of the tree, between twisted limbs, crouches Zhyk. Blood smears his cheek and chin, his teeth bared in a mad grin. He looks down at J'yhuh, who is none-the-wiser, and prepares to strike. Both are dressed in relatively All Saints' Wake garments. J'yhuh wears an armored fit akin to a huntsman, his head wrapped in linen and one eye covered by an eyepatch. Zhyk wears part of the clouddark outfit set, a resemblance to voidsent with sharpened claws and curved horns.

He also has another "class" he drops into (probability chance at low HP) called Death's Ravening. In essence it's a berserker mode where his voidsent takes over, focusing purely on fangs, claws, and aether attacks with hp regen on each strike.

There's a risk he'll attack allies as well! #zhyklore
