Laptop-free vacation is behind me, but I finished the front of my #DH2026 sweater, read (on paper! underlined lots of things! bought books from the bibliography!) Alice Hattrick's wonderful "Fancy Work", took a Japanese stab-binding workshop, did tatting, and started test knitting a sock. #DHmakes

Presentation materials from #DH2026 are now available on Zenodo. Participation was voluntary, so the collection covers only those presenters who chose to deposit their slides or posters — but if there was a session you missed or want to revisit, it's a good place to start.

Do you still remember your first presentation at an international conference?

Read in the report by Nils Hamann, @scadsai.bsky.social research assistant, about his experience at this year's @dh2026daejeon.bsky.social in South Korea, where he presented his work on Textum. 📄🔍

Great reflections on being able to answer questions in your first language, and on the trickiness of publishing work on building infrastructure, applying methods rather than producing more classically publishable novel methods #DH2026

Thank you to Naoya Iwata (Humanitext) for this #DH2026 report: presenting in Japanese, fielding English questions in Japanese via the AI live interpretation — and a closing reflection on building infrastructure scholars actually use.

Can confirm the products of this bakery were definitely worth sampling. Maybe not worth standing in line for hours, but they were, ya'know, pretty good.

An explanation of the viral bakery I visited in Daejeon, in Korea!
"Yang Seon-hee, a professor of global culture content studies at Daejeon University, examined how that identity took shape by collecting 357 media reports that used the keywords “boring” and “Daejeon” from 2019 through 2025."

It is interesting. I saw it at DH2026 as a poster (and have a photo of the poster). An unconventional but interesting use of TEI ODD.
