#disabilites
I am going to piggyback off this boost to also add:

Check in on your friends, especially if they are marginalized in any way or if they suffer from disabilites/mental health issues

It’s an incredibly trying time for *all* of us, and you never know how much a simple “hey” is worth
Take care of yourself today

Check on your friends to make sure they are good

The universe is full of chaos, you can't know what is going to happen next, and all you can do is your best and make sure you are kind to yourself and those around you

It's important to remember on days like these

Thank you for listening, honestly it was so difficult for me and my friend having to navigate throught the con in such a huge crowd. But im sure many with disabilites have difficulties going through.

Hopefully next year will be much eaiser to get through both buildings.

and i am honest to god shocked and disgusted by it. and let's not forget the ones slutshaming women or making fun of their appearence, yet say they're anti misogynist and pro body positivity. or the ones acting like both sides are bad. or the ones making fun of people with mental disabilites.

Sure, some disabilites affect the skills needed for certain jobs, and that's a worthy discussion if done respectfully.

Trump's worst qualities as president are still his conscience choices and should be the focus of his criticism.

Disabilities can never be used as insults without being ableism.

And the thing is, every single elder is different. Some things are similar but...

Every combination of physical, mental and emotional disabilites is gonna look different in a single person every single time.

And when it's your parent?

younger siblings go to argyle because dad felt that the schools zoned to lewisville weren’t equipped to handle their learning disabilites

18th - 24th October is Invisible Disabilites Week.

You dont have to discuss your medical history but sometimes its helpful to let people know that additional help, time or space may be needed. That is where the Hidden Disability Sunflower comes in.

reminder: my 5 YEAR OLD COUSIN was genuinely saying "make america great again!" and reciting bits from trump speeches a few years ago. worst part is he has disabilites which trump has mocked/made fun of multiple times. poor kid..

this is the most positive review I could find and it's not great. People woth disabilites deserve tools that work and do not erode their protections or anyone else's. That's not impossible.

I agree.

> That's not impossible.

If you talk about Meta, then I agree. But in general I disagree.

Resharing this speech by Madison Tevlin on #DownSyndromeAwarenessMonth.

Madison is an inspirational individual with down syndrome.

As Madison rightly says here, It’s stereotypes & assumptions that result in people with disabilites not being employed.

AI should never be used to silence ANYONE, especially minorities. AI should be developed ethically, with pro- minitories, pro- disabilites, pro- BLM, pro- LGBT+ , with respect for the HUMAN at the heart. If not, this should be done retrospectively so that AI can NEVER disadvantage any human.
NEW POST: Like many this year, a mum with ADHD did her best to respond to Government SEND consultations. But she asks, given AI is being used in the analysis, could filtering responses lead to an “algorithmic silencing” of neurodivergent voices? www.specialneedsjungle.com/using-ai-fil...

Sorry for the rant. I have a lot of friends and family with disabilites who struggle with aspect of looking/feeling good while still using needed supports. Ironically, one is mid/late 20s and the other is mid 80s. Same issue. Its infuriating to me.
