“Unhealthy obsession” = enthusiasm for kids not dying of preventable diseases.
Apparently Children's Health Dense mentioned me on their little podcast and said I have an "unhealthy obsession" with them and RFK Jr.

No, I have an unhealthy obsession with Love Island and Kit-Kats. This is just my job.

You shouldn’t be allowed to own pets if you use them as props that you’re needlessly exposing to painful and deadly diseases.
The antivaxxers are after your pets.

Wait...

In autoimmune diseases, the immune system blames normal body parts for problems the immune system itself allowed to happen.

I worked with—and deeply admired—Helen for almost 30 years. She was hands down *the best source* about emerging infectious diseases that I've ever known. My first warning of COVID was when on Dec 28, 2019 she reposted a ProMED mail report of an atypical pneumonia cluster: "This doesn't look good."

This is really terrible news. Helen was one of the best.

If you think about it
Being turned into a pooltoy also makes you immune to a lot of diseases/illnesses
That's a big positive about it!

About to teach my intro to infectious diseases in public health law where I talk about history (decline in deaths from infectious diseases, bumps, why), rise of public health law, types of pathogens, and medical tools to fight them - vaccines, antibiotics, sanitation, vector control. Wish me luck.

Everybody knows that diseases never cross borders.
CDC just closed offices in Angola and South Sudan. Zimbabwe is next; a dozen more may follow. CDC staff overseas support countries to find outbreaks early and stop them before they reach us. Decisions have consequences. Lives will be lost, including American lives.
