That is not that same thing as history. It's like conflating *your browser history* with *the history of the Internet.*

And I have papers in fucking top four journals doing crypto(graphy) where we use euphemisms like "distributed ledger" and then compare to fucking Ethereum as a baseline.

A ledger is really helpful! An immutable distributed ledger is... still a ledger, I guess. The extra adjectives aren't really solving any real problems.
