I often think about how inspired Elliott Smith would have been by distributed ledger technology.
This is largely how I feel about blockchains (the other technology oft-maligned on Bluesky). There are use cases where a distributed immutable ledger is a gamechanger… and instead it gets wasted on gambling.

There have been multiple iterations of "blockchain is good for arms control because it's tamper resistant" (blockChain of Custody?) over the past few years, but I remain very much unconvinced as to the practicality of implementing it for physical TAIs.
