There was a lot of denial that a genocide was occurring in Gaza, too.
I would not be surprised if many folks who congregate on DKos & who subscribed to this view have a hard time reading history back w/ this newly acquired frame in mind (truly coming to terms w/ the fact genocide started in 2023).

I remember back in the early days of dkos, when it was started and ran as a reaction to Republicans controlling things, and then after 2006 and especially 2008 it barely knew what to do with itself. Luckly Markos generally has a good head on his shoulder but a lot of people can't handle winning.
