I can't find any evidence that suggests Imageworks was contacted or considered at all. From what I can tell, DNEG may have been their first pick from the get-go, and regardless of (or more likely, because of) the necessary guidance, they definitely did an amazing job.

We know DNEG, which is known for CGI realism, was ill-equipped to tackle the Looney Tunes in Coyote VS Acme to the point where WB artists and animators had to guide them in rigging and posing them. So why didn't WB go to a studio like SONY Animation for it instead?? Did they ask for too much money??

IMO, Brad should've hired Sony Pictures Imageworks or DNEG to handle the CG for this, seeing as they generally bring in better results than the two studios that were ultimately selected for the job.
September 29, 2026 at 3:25 AM
All that said, there's also advantages from the director being VFX Supe, and a skilled artist himself, along with all the artists being in-house, not farming shots between ILM (US), DNEG (UK), and Weta (NZ) to comp all the work from the above back at Third Floor (US).

Cocomelon is not being produced by DreamWorks, Universal is distributing the film. Moonbug and DNEG should be the actual studios credited. There is also a Bluey movie coming out next year and it actually looks charming. Parents will definitely take their kids to see that instead of Cocomelon.

_Fuentes:_ 1, 2, 3, 4

Brahma AI raised $150 million at a $2 billion valuation for its enterprise video platform
Prime Focus Limited, the Indian media and entertainment conglomerate, holds a controlling stake in Brahma AI through DNEG, its U.K.-based subsidiary that produced the visual effects for franchise films such as the Dune series, according to CNBC. After the transaction closes, Prime Focus said its stake through DNEG will represent roughly 66% of Brahma AI's economic ownership, once dilution from the financing, an employee stock option pool and founder equity are taken into account. Brahma AI targets four industry verticals: media and entertainment, sports, healthcare and advertising. Its anchor customers include Warner Bros., the NBA and Mayo Clinic, and its strategic partners include Google $GOOGL, Hakuhodo and DNEG. The company said it won a 2026 Technology and Engineering Emmy Award for its visual AI technology. Prabhu Narasimhan, founder and CEO of Brahma AI, said in a statement that the company plans to use the capital to invest in its technology, build out a presence in the Bay Area and expand its global sales organization. "We are close to launching interactive digital humans, we are building Brahma AI to be model agnostic, and we are taking our technology into entirely new use cases," he said. @vivziepop.bsky.social If you're reading this right now, just know this:
If the Paramount Warner Bros merger results to "Prehistoria" getting cancelled, make sure to get the rights back and let Annapurna Animation and DNEG revive it, just in case.

If that's cool with you.
