Btw I’ve been learning more and you weren’t kidding that macro is stuck in a degenerate paradigm. Only useful modern stuff is the local projection/SVAR lit + some of the SOE models like, TNT-DNWR or the ones that tack on Financial Frictions. And they’re decent in spite of microfounding, not because

I’m not even anti microfounded macro models, stuff like Woodford’s neat little TNT-DNWR model can be neat, but I don’t see why they should automatically be viewed as superior to aggregate modeling, both have tons of statistical identification problems so it can’t be that
