The term houndstooth is from the 1930s and is based on the the pattern appearing to be dog’s teeth.

Finding out that houndstooth is also known as shepherd’s check, puppytooth, dogstooth, and in French, pied de poule (chicken’s foot). Classic black and white from Dior and Chanel. I hope to make a cowl or bag. Still fashionable.

Finding out that houndstooth is also known as shepherd’s check, puppytooth, dogstooth, and in French, pied de poule (chicken’s foot). Classic black and white from Dior and Chanel. I hope to make a cowl or bag. Still fashionable.
Gee I sure do wonder what rob’s favorite mineral is… hehehe. But his is my rhodochrosite collection so far! It super quickly became my favorite because of its rarest and most beautiful type I dream of owning: the scalenohedral or “dogstooth” version, which is deep red with the most gorgeous shape!

Gee I sure do wonder what rob’s favorite mineral is… hehehe. But his is my rhodochrosite collection so far! It super quickly became my favorite because of its rarest and most beautiful type I dream of owning: the scalenohedral or “dogstooth” version, which is deep red with the most gorgeous shape!

Next up, this rather lovely suit from Stella McCartney, set to poor effect against more fucking beige. What happened here? Was there zero prior consultation? Really no chance of adding in a bag of oranges or a red chair or SOMETHING to liven this up? Pic 3 is blurry. Pic 4, words fail me.
