![The Dowth cairn is 85 metres in diameter and 15 metres high,[3] and surrounded by 115 large kerbstones, some of which are decorated. Quartz was found fallen outside the kerbing, suggesting that the entrance to this tomb was surrounded by glittering white stone, as at Newgrange. Three stone-lined passages lead into the mound from the west. Today is Mabon. Autumn Equinox. And I'm sharing some old images of Dowth, one of the Big 3 at Brú na Boinne ritual landscape. Its still my favourite despite its dark (literally) legends of incest and death. Its aligned to the equinox, which is why I'm.sharing. and check the 7 suns stone!

Today we went to Dowth for the solstice sunset. We got to go into the chamber, I've been many times but never inside. A magical place. Such a nice vibe from all the people. What a great day.

Two years ago we were lucky enough to go inside Dowth for the sunset on the solstice. I met Clare there and thanked her for her lovely commentary on the live streams every year.

It's roof was reconstructed so it's not the same. Still very interesting inside, there's some rock art inside to go with the art outside.

I grew up in Dublin and Drogheda, but live in Meath. I’m claiming the Triceratops for Meath. The 3 horns represent the burial mounds at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and I reckon they’d have liked rolling fields and rivers.
