#dryBrushing
Man, this is the best stage (sealing+drybrushing).
The drybrushing is coming out sloppy and it's not even very necessary, but it's so satisfying.

Progress. I’m doing this as much as possible with drybrushing and plenty of glazes - but still a way to go. Happy with it so far.

Got all the messy drybrushing done on Boris. The feathers are maybe a bit more blue than intended, but I do like it.

Drybrushing tutorial in 2010: And now we're going to bring out our crustiest, most ruined paintbrush to do the Dipshit Technique For Lazy Assholes, because we do not care about this part looking good.

Drybrushing tutorial in 2026: And now for the drybrushing, a beautiful and underrated technique.

Anyway, brushes: Get the best you can afford, and take care of them. I swear by Rosemary & Co for cost vs quality. I use Artis Opus when people buy them for me as gifts. When they lose their points (inevitable, sadly), demote them to basing, drybrushing, varnishing, etc. Get your money's worth!

Makes for great drybrushing texture. Love your work Trish! It sparks joy

#hobbystreak Day 2263: overbrushed + drybrushed the last three night goblins and then did three layers of progressively lighter drybrushing for the Gellerpox infected model

Real and true (I like drybrushing)

This was my first time weathering a piece of clothing. I used black tea, coffee, and (diluted) acrylic paint. Then finished it off by drybrushing the seams with a kitchen sponge and even more acrylic paint 😁

Some work on my Vostroyan Firstborn Command Squad with some drybrushing preparing for some contrast paints and metallics another time. 🙂

For the drybrushing, which will allow us just the right kind of beautiful and smooth color gradients that we want, we are using these bespoke and extremely soft brushes, which we clean thoroughly and love like they're our children

That's a nice white. Very tricky to get right but it reads well and the pure white drybrushing still pops.

So I decided I didn't like the lack of contrast, and went back in with a black ink pen. Which then made the other colours look kinda faded- so then I was basically drybrushing with an old dead gold marker- which then decided it still had some life, or at least paint, left in it. Saved it, I think.

Have been randomly drybrushing in places with camo beige and also picking out some of the fancy stone work ove arches in same colour otherwise it gets a bit monotone. Oilwashes and grimes and everythjng scuzzy will pull it all together.

Luckily the weather decided to let up today long enough for me to get this sprayed black before it started raining again. I then spent a while this evening drybrushing the stonework. Next step will be to start adding basing material.

October 26, 2026 at 5:34 PM
Super busy today, and feeling pretty tired so I decided to do some small prep on a regiment of Moroi, drybrushing out the details before I get some paint on them

I do hate layering! Altho with bigger minis like my Troggoths I found I got through it easily by doing a lot of drybrushing.

Interesting to see what techniques work for different scales.

Ghost Rider, about as grimdark as I get with Marvel United 🔥

Subtle blacks, charcoals and purples against the flames and skull. The fire is wet blended with a touch of airbrushed OSL, plus metallic drybrushing on the chrome.

Painted last Halloween, reshared for the season 🎃

it's for drybrushing, and it means you can get a very even effect in seconds. i am planning to experiment with a slapchop method as my old skills have been making things look a bit flat, especially big areas
