#drybrushing
Thanks! I used a mix of drybrushing, washes, and painstakingly painting individual fur clumps and hair locks for a more natural look. And drybrushing the base of the back markings to get the black under fur and silver guard hairs look

Dude nice drybrushing!

Thanks .
Still feels like cheating somehow. I didn’t even do highlights or drybrushing. 😁

Some drybrushing on Classic Ghazghkull. Not sure how much use of contrast paints I will make but definitely some and it helps define details for my eyes. 🙂

Got some more work on the Orc Archers at lunch. Just drybrushing the chainmail. Feels great to get a little headstart on Orctober.

Work knackered me out this week so just a bit of drybrushing on the water tower, warehouse and third saloon. Also connected the LEDs to some splitters. #DeadMansHand #WhatACowboy

Might not even need the drybrushing step, just slather on a thin layer of a white or off-white color and that might work just as good, if not better

Today is "test the new colour line"-day at the Warhammer Stores.
There were only a few assorted colours, no flesh tones. So I grabbed a mini and tried gradients within the range and then some drybrushing and tried mixing some washes.

Next to me a woman […]

If you got nothing, start with basics:
-Clippers
-Glue
-Fine Detail brush
-Stiff-bristled brush for drybrushing
-A cup you'll never confuse as your drinking cup
-Your chosen paints and primer
-Maybe a wide brush for basecoating
-fidget popper toy to use as an ez-clean pallet

Can't go wrong w/that!

They didn't use drybrushing but I defo would, especially for a horde of skaven, the lil wuggums.

Love the vibrant colors! I tried to get a ghostly color using just a contrast of Pylar Glacier and drybrushing white, but the blue was too thin. How did you achieve this great green color?

My drybrushing technique is apparently too powerful.

The texture paints are also great used sparingly to get a bit of that bobbling that happens.
Mostly just remember that rust forms where water collects, and it will get rubbed off high-contact surfaces and edges, so light drybrushing afterwards with the base metal helps

light pink and a bit of yellow and orange and more and more white and did a whole lot of drybrushing, first on almost everything with the color closest to the base color, and on smaller and smaller areas with each lighter color. I threw orange and yellow into the mix to make sure I didn't just have

And we're done! I know it's only September and much too early for Christmas, but who am I to argue with a client?

The drybrushing on the snowflake turned out unexpectedly nice, but the camera struggles with it a bit. Please enjoy the extra picture hinting at just how messy my desk is.
If you're very lucky, you can sometimes catch a glimpse of a gnome overlord. Despite their name, these gnomes are very peaceful and are most often seen apologising for something they knocked over or broke (tomte spaces are much too small for them).

I recycle them or at least use them as paint palettes for drybrushing sometimes. I love how Trench Crusade makes them digital so that I don’t have to figure out what to do with them after I’ve built the thing.

Unlike most miniatures I've painted, I didn't do any drybrushing. This is all 'Eavy Metal-style edge highlighting. I kept the palette towards the cool spectrum so the yellow cockpit would pop out. As with most BT minis, I didn't paint extra detail to keep the focus on the overall scheme.

Sidenote: love drybrushing
Adds so much with just a gentle downwards sweeping motion

Update on the bois
They have their basecoat, drybrushing, and mettalic
After the shading they'll get their tartans and cockpits done

I love doing pen-&-ink and brush-&-ink. I maybe love it more than I do watercolor. But, I don’t like cross-hatching, stippling, drybrushing, or spattering. That all seems so untidy to me. It makes me wonder if I should explore those techniques more. Or just stay with my Franklin Booth-like stuff.
