#eclampsia
🐾🆘️🚨A little update: Our pup needed emergency vet care for eclampsia last night. The $1,200 bill came out of our family savings. I'm opening a separate $1,200 savings refill goal. Every little bit helps us recover from this unexpected expense. ❤️

yeah i have chronic kidney disease! my hot tips are: don't get pre-eclampsia when giving birth bc that will give you kidney damage and then you can't eat hummus anymore

Put me down for elective cesarean (only to avoid harm to herself/pre-eclampsia). Both fine.

I dunno, you are usually pretty right on with dates and other info. #TheArchers Regardless, if she ends up with pre-eclampsia, that baby will come early.

🐾 GOAL 2 — $1,200 CAD

Our little mama's vet recovery fund! ❤️ After an unexpected eclampsia emergency, we had to dip into our savings to get our girl the care she needed. This goal is to refill that little savings jar and get our family back on track. Every bit helps! 🥹🐾💕

I’m genuinely more surprised he didn’t give her pre-eclampsia with a “Pernicious Anemia” kicker. #TheGildedAge #DowntonAbbey

6 million women develop pre-eclampsia every year. It causes 16% of maternal deaths worldwide.

The problem is not lack of solutions, it’s lack of alignment.

WHO’s new Global Roadmap sets out how to fix that by 2035. www.who.int/publications...

Well, and with fewer doctors in the state, pregnant folks have less access to care, which means more pregnancies are likely to have issues that could have been caught early on but weren't (pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc.). Which leads to a higher chance of a bad outcome.

Jeezus. No woman should EVER be sent home when they have Pre-Eclampsia. Such a devastating experience, which will last for many years to come. As for not operating on her . . . .

Morning Healthcare Bluesky
Is it normal for a hospital to invite a pregnant woman with pre eclampsia symptoms in for early induction then make her wait 4 days and counting, away from her other 2 young children for lack of an available delivery room? 😤

#Eclampsia (e-CLAMP-si-a) is a very serious complication of #preeclampsia characterized by one or more seizures during #pregnancy or in the postpartum period. Preeclampsia means "before" eclampsia.

The video I saw today that led me to finding that article was them making fun of the concept of pre-eclampsia. Birth parents and babies are actually dying because of them.

Holy kriff. I wonder how much this also intertwines with pre-eclampsia and eclampsia / Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension.
Ooooh, someone has taken on the biased and fucked up factors that mean Black people die of kidney disease at a higher rate and receive transplants less often! courthousenews.com/wp-content/u...

I did video and took photos a lot back then. She wasn't doing at all well with dialysis in the last 2 years. Having Saffron accelerated things due to mild pre-eclampsia. Her kidney failure was genetic. Usually hit in the 60s, but was really aggressive for her.

It's important to know that delivery is not the cure for #preeclampsia. Any woman can develop preeclampsia after her baby is born, or postpartum preeclampsia, whether she experienced high blood pressure during her #pregnancy or not.
