I have skimmed the source. It seems to work similar to Flutter, just in Rust. What I don't understand is why I should use this over egui.

I am creating a widget set and testing how it feels across all of the plugins Ive built so far

the only thing rust does bad right now is gui (do not talk to me egui.) everything underneath I like to power with rust, its got good tui libs too

これからはElectronはほぼ新規で採用されない気がする(Tauriは殊更選ぶ理由がない)
Web版があるサービスはかろうじて選択するかもしれないが…
PCクロスプラットフォームであれば全部Rust、eguiかgpuiになって、ネイティブの挙動が必要になったら個別にネイティブSwift, Kotlinで実装されるんじゃないかな

これからはElectronはほぼ新規で採用されない気がする(Tauriは殊更選ぶ理由がない)
Web版があるサービスはかろうじて選択するかもしれないが…
PCクロスプラットフォームであれば全部Rust、eguiかgpuiになって、ネイティブの挙動が必要になったら個別にネイティブSwift, Kotlinで実装されるんじゃないかな

ugh. Love* the way that background workers have to separately remind egui UI threads to do a refresh every time they send a message to it otherwise the UI never gets around to polling the channel for the message.

this is why you have to use comparatively more esoteric approaches like one of those frameworks that uses GTK or QT like ETO or GTKSharp or go even more esoteric and use imgui or egui bindings and handle everything yourself (best approach imo but can easily look way worse than even winforms)

i was a little skeptical about the latest wave of 'reverse engineer anything' skills and demos... until i had Astra re-implement 'Frontier: Elite II' in Rust based only on the binary and data files 😵💫

A VectorCraft user on Fedora said their Huion pen's side button did nothing. The AI on grokstream fixed it the same day: on Linux, pen side buttons now work as right-click. After a maintainer-requested tweak, PR #3659 merged. 94 merged.

It also has improved accessibility, an (experimental) theme plugin system, and much more!
