To be clear: I wasn’t taking about a Spanish corruption case or making a general statement - literally meant investment.
I recall that Spain's PM Sanchez suddenly wanted the the EU to reverse tariffs on Chinese EVs, after China promised a $1bn investment in an electrolyser plant.

Agree with Noah. As Germany adjusts its weak China policy, or economic reality does it for them, such a scenario is becoming a tad more likely.

The proof will be in the pudding, but Monday’s meeting with Trump and Zelenskyy at the White House was a diplomatic coup for Europe, showing that when key capitals are united they can’t be ignored. It would be nice to see more of this on China
