The village of Ellenabeich on the Isle of Seil south of Oban. Seil is connected to the mainland by "The Bridge Over the Atlantic" and is the most easily accessible of the Slate Islands, whose fortune was built on the quarrying of slate. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

The BSBI DDb only has one record for yellow saxifrage from Seil Island, dated 1993. Pleased to say it's still present in a rocky flush north of Ellenabeich. Also still identifiable with a bit more difficulty is distant sedge (last Seil record also 1993). A great place to come and update old records!

In terms of location I would be looking at any where that sticks out into the channel. In an influx there should be birds moving up all coasts that face the wind. Looking at map Keillmore, carpark at Craignish Point or best would be carpark that looks out into Loch Linnhe from Ellenabeich/Easdale.
