for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!

Ely's mother is a seamstress and weaver for her village, and took her talents (and children) with her wherever she traveled. She moved about Skatay quite a bit throughout Ely's young life. Ely doesn't know if she's settled since her exile, as the two don't stay in contact.

Ely is a good swimmer, and loves being in the water, as long as it is secluded or at night time. Though she is afraid of the ocean and its vastness. Swimming in a lake or stream is one thing, but being out on the open ocean is another.

Ely's fair skin can burn on a cloudy day, let alone in full sun, and never seems to tan. She tries to avoid the sun, covering herself up as much as possible when she needs. Her face has freckles from the Dalmascan sun, but her body is mostly clear due to her dressing habits.

It is a cherished thing. She went nameless for years after her exile from Skatay, and asked her late lover to name her as a sign of his affection. Elysea was the name he chose. As he told her, being in her presence was the closest he could be to the heavens.

Not for a lack of singing skills or performance chops. She actually knows how to play some songs on the flute, and isn't a bad singer.
It's because she's nearsighted, and refuses to get her eyes checked. 😂

Forget about what your wol's main job is. Which one of the jobs would they just straight up suck ass at? Is there a specific reason for it, like a physical limitation? Or do they avoid learning it due to personal preference?

There was an early concept of Ely having an Echo and being able to see (uncertain) futures. I abandoned it for RP reasons, and changed it to her having a strong connection to the Elementals of the Shroud instead.

RP-wise, Ely's concept has changed little in 3 years, though she has grown a bit. She started as more of a lady knight, but I've shed that part of her over time, and now she's a retired lady-knight turned traveling healer with an oath to never kill anyone ever again.

Hates it. Descending from the mountains and hills of Skatay and the Dalmascan highlands into the deserts around Rabanastre was one of the most miserable experiences in her life. She never got used to it.

She can often be found asleep, head laying on her desk, a pen in hand, and her open medical journal with a half-finished entry beside her. She tends to work herself to collapse as a volunteer on-call medicine woman and healer, on top of the...other duties to the Shroud.

In Skatay, the other viera could probably tell there was something slightly...off about her. Maybe it was some features that weren't entirely vieran, or her paler skin, or unusual hair color that extended to her brows and lashes. Whether she was attractive or not is subjective, I suppose.

A long braid of her sister's hair, which she cut off near the end of the funeral ceremony.
She also cut off a braid of her own for her sister to be buried with, so that a part of her would always be with her on the other side as well.

Now that I think about it, she does tend to stomp her foot when she's very angry. I never considered it a viera-ism, but wow is that a coincidence.
Her ears do subconsciously reflect her mood as well, usually laying down when she's relaxed, sad, or feeling vulnerable.

6 fulm, 3 ilm. Her height isn't something she's considered much, outside of her occasionally bumping her head on the doorways of homes designed for shorter races. Height in vieran culture is a point of pride, I feel, so it's nothing for her to be self-conscious about.
