He's such a great actor that I really don't want him to get tied up in another franchise. On the other hand, he could be the first actor since Sean Connery to fully embody the sociopathy at the heart of the character.

They were a resounding declaration of the American people’s insistence that they be represented by leaders who fully embody the beautiful breadth of their diversity...

Looking forward to the obligatory 6,000 newspaper columns arguing this is because Republican men fail to embody masculinity. They are weak, whiny, petty narcissists; they have no sense of honor, character, or duty; and they harm rather than protect women and children.

Surely we'll get those, right?
in 2024, 56% of young men voted for Trump. in 2026, the GOP did not win a majority of men in *any* racial category

I must embody casual huge hangers

Why can't trans people embody an oppositional stance toward the dominant regime of sex/gender/sexuality and the subjectivities it forms and buttresses?
Why must transness be tamed into a citizen-subject, surrendering its transformative potential and its power to reshape the very social order on which that citizen-subject depends?
Trans people are a threat to your experience of gender and sex if your experience of gender and sex hinges on patriarchal forms of power. Be afraid.

The same people who embody the 7 deadly sins want us to post the 10 Commandments in classrooms.

Gonna go take a personality test, what type of character should I embody?

And you embody her so well.

The cost of self-determination is high. Most trans people know that, but it's absolutely worth it. Without self-determination, you have no dignity, no life, no possibility to embody.

You really do embody the mechwarrior spirit, and I'm so proud

Becoming more powerful really is as easy as having the desire to be so, and the will to embody it.

You win a landslide and inherit a mandate under the auspices of change and the directive to fight aggressively and push change, you don’t rubber stamp Schumer and Jeffries. You overturn the ineffectual status quo, you find new leaders who will embody the will of a vast electorate.

He does embody core conservative values like choking your pregnant wife.

And so it begins. The first test will be to replace Schumer and Jeffries, who embody that idea.
November 4, 2026 at 7:37 PM
but also, put charitably, I think there are a lot of self conscious liberal women for whom not being straight is a noble and progressive idea they want to embody but they aren’t actually Like That

100% all of this!

"Anti-fascist politics must embody a refusal to abandon anyone our enemies would grind under. Anything less is a slow-motion surrender that will only speed up with time."
Anxious? Me too. I wrote about how we can manage midterm anxiety, stay useful, and prepare for whatever comes next.

"We cannot allow ourselves to shrink our aspirations to the size of a moment when people are trying to crush us."
Be as Brave and Gentle as You Can
This is an inflection point. Everything that comes next flows from here.

Sometimes people basically "understand" Star Wars or Lord of the Rings or whatever but they choose to favor the bad guys anyway, because they have bad values and the bad guys embody those things. It's not always a problem of literacy! In fact it's arguably a type of very successful reading!

I love this. After two years of corrupt pedophile old men hiding their rapey conduct, this is a reminder of the decent man who inspired a generation of new politicians to embody ethics, values, morals and a sense of duty.

I am not here to "educate" you

I am here to humble you

I am here to embody the message

go ahead. be a little afraid, if it helps
I'm on record saying that "it's not my job to educate you" isn't really true. if we want things to get better, we *do*, tragically have work to do

what *is* true, though. is that "educating you" is a much lower priority than sticking up for ourselves and our friends

understanding demands respect

It's very much the angle of someone who "shouldn't be allowed to be that confident" still pushing forward, still acting like they're universally highly desirable, refusing to play towards the fetish they now embody. Whether or not they ever admit what's happened and work on embracing it...

A good person needs some help... Lets celebrate tonight by continuing to embody who we all are. We help each other out!
