The only thing that has EVER united the Democratic Party—a party whose main pastime is, and has always been, self-cannibalization—is the emergence of a heel.

For example, the idea of emergence is something people with ‘humanities’ training are well positioned to study. It’s philosophically interesting and germane to assumptions like ‘you can’t get anything new from that which already exists’ (!)
There's a lot of humanities ppl who need to get the "LLMs cannot create novel things" trope out of their heads.

That's not true. And it's arguably a category error, given that creativity most often arrives via a complex interaction with an intellectual environment, which LLMs can partake of.

Why not libertarianism? Stochasticity is a mere background condition, not what drives free will. What drives free will is contextual emergence, which depends on a context and boundary. This form of emergence avoids problems of supervenience, weak, and strong emergence (such as causal exclusion).

Bodybuilding fun fact: there’s a saltatory emergence of vascularity. Basically you get lean enough that your veins appear near the skin’s surface, you eat carbs/salt, and boom. Vascularity. And if you do it right, the vascularity stays more or less permanently, so that’s neat.

Lots of positives for Liverpool today, despite the defeat & shots on target stats.

Iraola is definitely giving us an identity which we had lost.

Yes there is a lot to improve on.

But for periods we dominated Arsenal. You could see the emergence of a team that was fighting. Trey was excellent.
