The empennage needs an 0.75 mm shim to fit with the fuselage in width. Also adds a bit of thickness to the fin, which was too slender.

The investigation is just getting underway, but one thing I will be very curious about here is the role of fly-by-wire in maintaining aircraft control. That's a lot of damage to the empennage and the E190 was Embraer's first with a FBW elevator. That crew did an amazing job under the circumstances.

luckily the potomac where they crashed isn't incredibly deep so recovering the black boxes from both aircraft won't be as difficult as it could be. likely the empennage of the plane is lodged deep in the river bottom and the helo is apparently upside down

Wings & empennage attached. Gear painted & drying, that’ll be a later addition. One thing I love about TET is how I can tap the wing root joint and capillary action pulls it in and melts the plastic, making its own filler. If i putty this, I’ll only make it worse. #TonyTonyTony #HistScaleModels
