makes complete sense when you think about it. AI is a blank slate and not just that AI is designed never to challenge people. it makes sense that people would attribute more humanity to AIs than people in an outgroup they're prejudiced against who challenge their sense of self merely by existing
i suppose it is extremely human to care more about the rights of a pencil you stuck googly eyes on than real people but that doesn't mean it's not infuriating

if you too wish to switch to the ai free version of duckduckgo and you use firefox i have great news: it takes literally a couple of clicks bsky.app/profile/enik...
or apparently on Firefox you can also just open noai.duckduckgo.com, right click the search text box, and click search engine. lol
you don't have to use an extension to do this on Firefox
• open settings > search
• scroll down to search shortcuts and click add
• fill out according to the image below (text in alt text)
• click add engine
• scroll back up and select "DuckDuckGo No Ai" under "default search engine"
