"punctuated equilibrium"

Wise liberals know that liberalism is not an equilibrium condition. It requires continuous work.

The World is reaching it’s natural equilibrium 🙏🏽

You have to understand: the Republican Party can only double down on its own insanity from now to 2028. There is no strategy that takes them back to a stable equilibrium with people like Romney or the Bush family.

liberal democracy™ became a global equilibrium point for entirely predictable materialist reasons, folks.
one thing that is important to keep in mind is that while 'car juice and burger expensive' is a proximal factor in yesterday's election results, the problem of prices is itself endogenous to policies resulting from Trump's personalistic authoritarianism (1/2)

Trump’s authoritarianism caused the Democratic tsunami
The midterm was about gas prices — but also something much deeper than that.

let's punctuate us an equilibrium

Tipping points, cascading effects, punctuated equilibrium.
one argument i have been making in my column for like half a decade — and an argument i will make in the book i am working on 👀 — is that when breakthroughs happen, change can come all at once. i do think that the 2026 opens the door to major political reform
Per Axios: With Democrats winning trifectas in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact now has 283 potential electoral votes, putting it above the 270 needed to take effect.

A really important thing to understand is the difference between "supply" (a function that related quantity and price) and "quantity supplied" (the equilibrium quantity at a given price).

it would upset the equilibrium

All the world rejoices as America repudiates MAGA horribleness and votes for a return to sanity, decency, and democratic equilibrium. 🌊

More mechanics resources have been added to the website. I'm also adding Notes to accompany each video - ideal for students to follow each example.

It’s the party’s Nash equilibrium

Maybe temporarily. But structural reform is essential since as things stand, the Court's natural equilibrium is elitist horseshit.

The problem is that it's not a stable equilibrium once one guy starts making moves

Basically the movie Equilibrium, but instead of emotion dampening drugs, you're legally required to take puppygirl hormones every few hours.
What's your most ridiculous, newly emboldened political demand?

(Absurd answers only.)

As seen here, even in remote areas of Central Africa folks are getting set to celebrate 🎉at the news that MAGA is finished the world eagerly awaits America's return to sanity, decency, and democratic equilibrium. 🌊

Another forecast bites the dust. The reckonomists can't get their heads around the possibility of a persistent, grinding decline. Probably because their models are based on la-la-land assumptions - like the return to equilibrium. Graph 2 is grim - look how long we've been in the crap.

Our new preprint is out! This one is about constraining triple oxygen isotope equilibrium fractionation between calcites and their parent waters over a wide range of temperatures.
