I am stunned by your lack of respect for indigenous 1600s era European military ways of knowing.

there's a certain threshold of autism where 1600s Europe flips from "least interesting" to "most interesting" era and it's the exact threshold where you stop caring about aesthetics at all

River Tavy flows under Denham bridge this week, West Devon. Original built in the 1600s it was modified in the Victorian era. The artist Turner sketched it in 1814. #Devon #photography

God that mid 1600s pike and shot era where gunpowder was slowly becoming more reliable but people were still using swords and spears was so fucking peak. I need a total war set in that period.

One tiring aspect of modern life is that The News™ considers "things that happen on Twitter" massive, agenda-shifting earthquakes when it's some guy with 19 followers saying genocide is bad, but also no big deal when the world's richest man is using his personal AI to spread 1600s-era anti-semitism.
today in Grokology, the chatbot is doing antisemitism

Somewhat disregarding the content of the tweet, I find it a little fascinating that their last name is actually Thanedar. Then his ancestors used to be police officers back in the Mughal/Maratha era(1600s-1800s)
Dinesh is a scum bag. Excellent clap back.

Wristwatches as opposed to fob watches. The chain caught on things, and there wasn’t time to dig out a pocket watch. (Hi! I’m a history nerd, too; my era is 1600s England, when men wore tons of jewelry. 🙂)

During the recent extra-low tides, I came across this long early clay pipe, nestled in a narrow mud ledge at the far edge of the tide. This shape dates to the late 1600s; this is the longest pipe I've found from that century - plus, on the same day, I found two other longish pipes from the same era!

For the likes of you, the path to happiness is one mean son of a bitch of a path.

It doesn’t matter if it’s the Yakuza from the 1600s or Modern Era. They are always gonna find a way to railroad Tomoe and her interfering ways…

This is an absolute witch hunt. How terrifying that we are turning back the clock not only to the 1950s red scare era but all the way back to the 1600s.

Nothing has messed me up recently quite like learning that Julius Caesar's horse allegedly had human front feet.

set it in the mid 1600s because this is the era where bows, guns, and swords are all equally in use, which makes it cooler than D&D

A stunning castle, lost and abandoned in the forested mountains of Austria. A local noble remodelled the fort into a residence in the early 1600s in the Baroque style of that era.

The building operated as a hotel and restaurant in the 1940s. The property […]

I'm sorry topless boy but those things on your night-stand look a bit too modern for the era we're in, medieval or 1600s;

In the Eastern US, we have cemeteries dating back to the 1600s. Whenever I visit one, I notice how many tombstones there are for children under 5. In the pre-vaccine era, nearly HALF of all babies died. It was a holocaust.

Do not call yourself pro-life if you are anti-vaccine.

probability emerging only in the 1600s was the main thing that was absolutely solvable within the classical era that wasn't, and the entire world was held back until it emerged
What’s the simplest non-gun technology you could give the Romans that would still totally reshape the course of global history? I feel like telegraph would do it probably. Maybe steam trains.
This is the truest thing I have ever seen. You cannot imagine how much the Romans would have lost their minds for excel. They literally already started writing our historical chronicles in synchronized columns *by hand*

In the 1600s, the term "stone-horse" referred to a stallion (an uncastrated male horse), a term commonly used in that era.
