Chapter 3: like the naraka of avici and raurava Sometimes, he thinks: This must be hell. Perhaps he did kill his father. Perhaps he daubed essence of nightshade onto the mouthpiece of his mother's opium pipe. His parents are long dead, and perhaps it was his fault, like his mother always said it would be. But this is not Avici. The sin he has committed must be something far more deplorable than patricide or matricide. Dante wrote of Limbo that the gentlest circle of hell did punish those who resided therein by knowing the grace of God's light without hope of ever having His salvation. Ghetsis knows— This circle of hell should have been the last. That this punishment is far too cruel. If it were last, perhaps God's light would be nothing more than a faint glow, enough to cast shadows onto the cavernous walls, and in so doing, allowing the damned to exist in blissful ignorance, eyes used to only darkness. There is no name for the hell he has been cast into. Sometimes, he thinks he can smell cigarette smoke and roses, and thinks: If I call for her, surely she will come back home.

Chapter 2: wading through a dream, the self nowhere to be found Ghetsis did not used to dream. Every night, his world reeking of some acrid, cloyingly sweet scent, flowers overlaid atop it, would fade to darkness, and when his eyes again opened, a new day had dawned, the old overwritten, everything fresh - pure and infant once more. No sugary sweetness. No burning. No flowers. This was how he liked it. A clean canvas each morning, which he would write upon his own manifestations. Nothing lingering in his mind from yesterday, his feet planted firmly in the present. He didn't know when, exactly, it started, her presence sneaking in like a shadow, a ghost, a hope, but- By the time he noticed, it was too late. Ghetsis dreams of his daughter.

Chapter 1: tu es belle à force d'être Telling his own daughter to pull down her shirt so he can see her cute, pert breasts is not the worst thing Ghetsis has done to the girl. But he will admit, he isn't used to the anonymity of hiding behind a screen. After all, Eris is his to do with as he pleases. There is no need for shame, for cowardice. A stronger claim than the Divine Right of Kings, this is the Divine Right of a Father. He is her creator, her God. And so, like God, he sits in his heaven, far above the clouds, the Plasma Frigate cruising easily through the sky. His array of screens splay out around him, images and videos of Eris he's captured throughout her brief life on display before him, each monitor big enough to give the illusion that she's right here with him.
