Wanted to add: I've never been put off writing something because I found a similar fic already existed. BUT there's a rivetra writer who acknowledges the importance of Erwin to Levi AND has written erurivetra, whose work I got into reading *after* I started writing erurivetra stories of my own. >

I meant to publish this on Friday, but I clicked "Post" instead of "Save as Draft" by mistake 😅

So, here goes: Levi Ship Week, Day 5 (premature) – Mpreg/Preg.

No beta! We die with Erwin's sense of dignity.

In support of this: almost all the canonverse and canon divergent Rivetra and Erurivetra fanfiction I have read makes a point of referencing at some point how Petra is known as a remarkable talent within the Scouts, plus that her Titan bodycount is higher overall than Oluo's. Including my own!

Today marks one year since I published the first chapter of my first fic, It's Complicated — wherein I decided the world needed more #erurivetra, and made an earnest – if self-indulgent – attempt to show how both #eruri & #rivetra are canonically plausible.

Cream text on a burgundy background reads: "Captain," was the first, breathless word to spill from Petra's bloodied lips as he carried her away over the pommel of his saddle. "My legs are broken — you've got to put me down." "Not safe," was all he could manage in reply as he kicked his horse on. "Soon." But when he went to see her in the infirmary – one ankle still throbbing, despite the splint and poltice the physicians had skilfully applied to alleviate the worst of the pain – she looked as if nothing had happened. All her cuts and bruises, just… gone. "Are you all right, sir? You look like you've seen a ghost," she asked him — as if she couldn't remember the events of the expedition at all. I might've done, he wanted to say. Quickly followed by the embarrassment of having to face her father again, after he'd collared him in the town to fill him in on the contents of her most recent letter. All about her wish to "devote herself fully" to him. And his warning that she was too young to marry.

Back when glorifiedcrawfish Summary: “I don’t understand,” Levi mutters, watching the dirt path that leads up to former HQ like Erwin might appear out of thin air. “What do you mean?” He’s echoing himself, six years ago. Bursting into Erwin’s office for the first time sober, with two dead friends and only meaningless sex to fill the void. I don’t understand you. Erwin’s millisecond of shock, of genuine feeling. The neutral mask that slipped over it. It’s for the best, Levi. I’m sorry. “It’s weird timing,” he replies curtly. “That’s all.” Before the 57th expedition, Levi and Petra start exploring their connection. Erwin has other ideas. Yayyy I’m so happy to be part of this! Here’s a lil snippet of my #clubgoodtaste / #erurivetra fic:
He snorts. Petra grins like she’s won something, a big, toothy smile. She has straight, white teeth. Must floss often. She’s cleaner than the rest of the Corps, Levi’s noticed. (Erwin could learn a thing or two. Levi remembers the week after Wall Maria fell, when he lost himself in his books. Didn’t shave. Didn’t shower. Levi had to force him into a bath.) Petra’s watching him. “You’re doing it again,” she says softly.

VERY stoked to have something I wrote featured in an anthology with such beautiful cover art, alongside so many other talented writers and artists. And for such a good cause, too!

So here's a wee snippet of my canon divergent, #erurivetra / #ClubGoodTaste contribution.
Grey text on a black background reads: Petra turned slowly to face her Captain. As their eyes met, he softly asked, "How you feeling now?" "I'm very tired," she sighed. Levi blinked slowly in acknowledgement. "Thought I'd lost you for good back there." So I gather, she thought — but chose instead to say, "I'd like to put it behind me." He wrinkled his brow, seeming to study her face before he spoke again. "So…" he eventually went on, shifting a little in his seat. "Had an… interesting conversation with your dad." Petra knit her brows, confused and a little apprehensive. "Oh…?" "Yeah." He slid his teacup and saucer to one side. "Any idea why he'd feel a need to tell me he thinks you're too young to marry?" She gasped, eyes wide — then turned away, lifting a hand to fuss at her hair to conceal the sudden flush colouring her cheeks. She hadn't meant marriage. Well — not exactly.

“How do you usually handle this, Levi?” Erwin asks. He lifts Petra’s chin with a finger. Her blush is unmistakable. “Or is she good for you?” Levi narrows his eyes at Erwin. “What’s your angle here?” Erwin grips her more firmly by the jaw, pushing her face from side to side. Like he’s examining a fruit for bruises. Weighing the risks and rewards. It takes Levi back in time. Erwin releases her face to roll up his sleeves. “I wanted to remove her from your squad,” he admits. “But if she can be a good girl for you — well, I might reconsider.”

Yes, I'm aware. I write erurivetra, and a Rivetra fic was also gifted to me earlier today in which Petra dies – under which an unregistered user had posted using my pseud as a nickname, claiming I was glad she died because I hate women. I chose to ignore it because it was seeking to get a rise.
