Kaverin kanssa samantapainen keskustelu, että ennen kuin alkoi itse soittaa, LP ja SG miellytti silmää, Strato-mallit ei. Estetiikkaa sekin kitaran valinnassa. Mulla SG ja kopio, kaverilla LP ja kopio-ES355.

I don't DM but I wouldn't say no to a new guitar and amp for use after I get my neck fused. A Gibson ES355 Supreme guitar and a Mess Boogie California Tweed amp would sure lift my spirits. Throw in an El Dorado guitar strap and I would even smile.

If I buy another guitar... which is unlikely in the next 5 years... part from a fender bass VI... I want an es355 with bigsby and varitone switch... not cheap...

Then the last was really cool. It was a massive, semi-hollow, thinline, fretless semi-acoustic bass, all in black. Like, imagine a Gibson ES355-looking thing, but without the cutaways, and as a 4-string fretless bass. It looked pretty old, and was a bit tatty, but I really want one now

Thanks man! I can do the intro picking and the barre chords for the chorus and bridge (only 3 or 4 chords, something like that), but Alvin’s solo, that’s on fire! Remember hearing that for the first time and was blown away. I forget now, I think he played a Gibson ES355 with pickups he made himself

Hollow & semi-hollow are more resonant (somewhat like acoustic guitars) so you absolutely CAN do fun feedback things with them but mostly it depends on the pickups & how close you are to the amp 😅
