We're currently at the "Jesus didn't say we should feed people"
portion of the fall of American Evangelicalism.

The modern state of modern evangelicalism:

conservative evangelicalism is the direct theological offspring of slaveholder christianity and it contains all of its pathologies, part infinity

"Evangelicalism is not a simply religious group... Rather, it is a nationalistic political movement whose purpose is to support the hegemony of white Christian men over & against the flourishing of others." - @antheabutler.bsky.social

Y’all need to stop treating American evangelicalism as a religion and start understanding it as a permission structure

Honestly the only good product of evangelicalism since 1990
As you can see I have gained access to the digital calendar’s photo slideshow

saliency to far-right evangelicalism
I still don't fully understand why that IDF soldier pulling a statue of Christ off that crucifix and smashing its head in with a hammer is doing more diplomatic harm than the attacks on the Holy Family Church in Gaza did

Welcome to evangelicalism!

She compares the boat strikes to Jesus breaking the sabbath to heal someone.

I don't mean to be that person... but Catholics who haven't been poisoned pilled by evangelicalism don't generally put "Christian" in their bios

it's incredible how evangelicalism seems to be evolving into a new religion that has basically little to do with the actual Bible
every time a Nazi shows up with this slogan (or a NRA gun-fetishist), just remind them what Jesus said:

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple."

the fact that christians were more upset about this ai generated trump pic but not when he said he was gonna wipe off an entire civilization shows how bankrupt white evangelicalism is

it does, however, say a lot about contemporary evangelicalism

listing "monogamy, marriage, [and] childbearing" as the preeminent, perhaps the only, "pro-social commitments" of Christianity is hilariously wrong on so many levels
Ahh yes, American Christianity: Truly the "polar opposite" of a movement that promotes traditional masculinity and gender hierarchy.

the thing about us evangelicalism is at it’s core it’s antinomian
From the outside US evangelicalism is a very puzzling religious group because ostensibly they are very concerned with the moral teachings of a publicly accessible text but also they seem to have inferred completely the opposite lessons from that text than what everyone else thinks is the plain read.
so my town has been hosting an emergency food drive for snap recipients. the town, high school clubs, the Y, the churches (Episcopal, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists, Unitarians, and the Catholics) & the synagogue, are involved.

You know who isn't participating? the fucking evangelicals.

nah this is almost indistinguishable from a small conservative town utilizing evangelicalism instead of leftism to express their unhinged narcissism

If you’re not aware that the “sin of empathy” is making real end roads into popular evangelicalism you need to be aware

We need at some point to talk about American Evangelicalism as a heretical movement. We should not indulge the delusion of a bunch or nuts who cherry-pick the Bible to rationalize otherwise indefensible 21st century bigotries that they are representatives of a global faith.

People have been shocked that an AI company is offering chats with an AI Jesus for $1.99/minute but it's important to remember and respect the fact that a core part of American evangelicalism is being financially defrauded by people who claim to speak for god

American Evangelicalism isn’t a religion; it’s a political ideology based on cruelty and control.

Pop leftism as crypto-Evangelicalism. Once you see it it’s everywhere.

Modern Evangelicalism is the unholy love child of Christianity and consumerism.
it is worth understanding that most evangelical churches do not actually require you to believe or do anything in particular. when they go to church they mostly listen to some songs and are told that god hates their enemies and wants them to own a truck.
