I do not consider it my business to convert anyone or convince them to agree with me, and missionary/evangelization type shit makes me want to barf, but I think that finding common cause with people and standing in your shared values is incredibly important

it’s also emboldening a new era of weight loss evangelization. in the last few months I had a guy at church and then a woman Lyft driver both corner me when I couldn’t escape and do “let me tell you about my weight loss injections” completely unsolicited. they just saw a fat person and go in

Therapy is a *treatment option* for people responsive to it. It is not a coda for mental health or intrinsic to human wellbeing. Destigmatization does not require a universal prescription or evangelization. I don't tell everybody to take ADHD medication so they understand me.

The biggest problem with integralism, I think, is they just want a moral justification for fascism. They don't want a Catholic state in order to promote virtue, evangelization, and care for the needy. They aren't even assuading a guilty conscience. They want it to be praised for pious aesthetics

How is this any different from historical examples of forced abduction and evangelization of children under colonialism? From Portuguese Goa to colonial Brazil to Canadian mission schools, colonizers have done exactly this to subject populations.

I find it enraging (as a Catholic/Buddhist). I realize evangelization is considered a core value in many evangelical/protestant churches, but that doesn't change my deep, immediate reaction that it's disrespectful, and I would have a very hard time ever ordering from there again.
