Progress doesn’t have to mean doing everything.
Sometimes it looks like less stress, less overwhelm, a clearer mind, and a few things finally getting done.
That’s progress worth noticing. 💜
Difficulty is data, not identity.

- Communicate and correct: Re-engage only after your physical stress subsides, keeping instructions simple and grounded.

De-escalation starts with our response, not their behavior.

Give scattered energy some BS. 😊

Focus isn’t always about trying harder. Supporting the brain chemistry behind motivation and follow-through may help turn stuck into forward.

A neurodivergent win can be changing the environment instead of blaming yourself. Move the task into sight, lower the noise, or make the first step smaller. Support is not cheating; it is good design.

An ADHD brain can lose the plan and still keep the spark. A note on the door, a timer across the room, or a friend checking in can turn intention into motion. Tiny bridges count.

Does anyone else suffer from the unjustified confidence that there’ll be time to meet (or do stuff, or take on new projects) in the very near future if not now? It leads to some interesting downstream, um, layered planning.

🍂 New season, same you. Different needs.

You don't need to reinvent yourself. You need to adjust what supports you.

Difficulty is data, not identity.

When did you realize the Computer Industry #ExecutiveFunction was outright Bill Gates + Paul Allen egomania.

I've failed two marriages, Paul Allen didn't have the courage to do one public marriage despite being richest men in world. He DID have the courage to be honest at being a failure with women

Executive function grows through practice, not just instruction. Today, let's reflect on how we can let students take more responsibility for their own learning - for example, by letting them schedule their time. #ThinkAboutItThursday #ExecutiveFunction

- Micro-Deadlines: Instead of "this is due Friday," break it down into daily mini-finishes. "Problems 1 through 5 done before 4:30 PM." Small targets feel achievable and give quick dopamine hits.

Progress beats perfection every single time.

New CDC data: 1 in 6 U.S. adults deal with frequent fatigue, and nearly half of them report real cognitive difficulty. An exhausted brain can't plan or follow through, no matter how good the strategy is. Root cause before quick fix.

How about you?

This Is (Probably) Why You’re Burnt Out
#autism #burnout #executivefunction If you’ve been following my recent videos, you’ll know I’ve been actively battling burnout and executive function fatigue. When I finally asked myself, “How did I get here?” The answer was uncomfortable. I did almost everything wrong… all at once. In this video, I explore: How working for yourself doubles your executive load Why flexible schedules increase decision fatigue The hidden cost of working from home Why transition time matters more than you think How “relaxing” hobbies can secretly drain you What true rest actually looks like Burnout isn’t always about working too hard. Sometimes it’s about working in ways your nervous system can’t sustain. I’d love to hear which part resonated most with you. WANT TO HELP ME CONTINUE TO MAKE MORE CONTENT LIKE THIS? If you're autistic or think you or someone you love might be on the autism spectrum, this channel is for you! I'm Paul Micallef, and I discovered my own autism at age 30. Yes, I know, I don't look autistic. That's exactly why I started this channel in the first place because if I didn't show you, you would never know. Autism affects many (if not all!) aspects of our lives, so on this channel, I want to show you what Autism looks like in real people and give you some insight into what's happening for us on the inside. We'll break down myths and misconceptions, discuss how to embrace autism and live well, and share what it's like to be an autistic person. Join me as I share what I've found along my journey, so you don't have to learn it the hard way.
