I'm finally watching Sister Wives for the first time, and Mormon polygamy is somehow even stranger than I expected. As an ExMormon, I was shocked by how familiar some of the beliefs and practices felt, even though I grew up in a very different branch of Mormonism. From Kody's blatant double standards to the bizarre power dynamics between the wives, I have SO many thoughts. Let's talk about the disturbing reality of Mormon polygamy and why Kody's famous motto, "Love should be multiplied, not divided," doesn't exactly hold up.
