#extremism
This but unironically— on certain issues that is. Moderation and extremism are not uniform!

“Far centrist extremism”. Blimey.

Remember when the Taliban blew up thousand year old massive Buddha statues in Afghanistan, and we all were aghast at their extremism?

Should note that I don't think this is the defining issue for most Americans; they are likely more motivated by cost of living issues. Only saying that I don't think Dems should abandon undocumented immigrants, as this is not a losing issue. Should call mass deportation for what it is: extremism.

You will note that in British politics and media, this entirely rational and reasonable position is forcefully depicted as a form of terrifying ideological extremism.

"Disgusting little pig man" is a better hit than "ideological extremist" imo. You can hit him on the ideological extremism, but do it from the angle of him saying anything to impress people.

pro-Israel no longer being moderate-coded is the greatest blow to the bipartisan zionist consensus it could sustain. increasing it reads not as centrism, but extremism.
Democratic Congressman-Elect Don Leonard for Ohio's 15th, which is a Trump +10 district, says he will vote for Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker provided that he make commitments to support changes in US foreign policy towards Palestine and prioritize economic relief for working class Americans.

"Far centrist extremism" is the type of word salad that should win its own Good Food Award.

THREAD: It’s Election Day, and ProPublica is looking out for what’s going right — and what isn’t.

Our local reporters are spread throughout the country, monitoring for voter interference, election observers, extremism tied to the election and more.

Here’s how to get in touch 👇

I’m coming to the conclusion that many politicians do have trouble understanding principles and morality. That’s how you get this weird confusion about “extremism”, where free school lunch is portrayed as the same as ethnic cleansing even by some Dems.

They think believing in things is extremism.

Also immediately blames his left leaning friends for pushing to him extremism.
Obviously Anakin is an accidentally perfect right-wing avatar because he's a school shooter, but also because he's constantly talking about the violence he would commit to protect his wife and ends up killing her himself

Surely by definition you can't have "centrist extremism"? It's literally impossible.

We're going to see a lot in the coming days about what Republican losses in Texas mean for the future of MAGA.

But please know that tonight also marks a sharp rejection of anti-abortion extremism, specifically. It’s a reminder that conservatives' fucked up agenda for women is unpopular everywhere
November 4, 2026 at 5:12 AM
you had groypers/the right posting shit like this a DAY before the midterms. they're so chronically online and warped by it they don't even realize that they've severed themselves completely from real politics. they're just doing extremism as fandom, at this point.

Ding-dong, Ken Paxton’s career of extremism and hate is officially dead.

It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person. Instead, Texas will send Democrat James Talarico—who has spoken at length about how his faith compels him to protect reproductive freedom—to the U.S. Senate.

BREAKING: Democrats just won a SUPERMAJORITY in the New York Senate!

Since winning full control of the chamber in 2018, Dems have passed several pieces of nation-leading legislation. This win strengthens Dem power and will help further protect New Yorkers from GOP extremism.

The answer to extremism & fear is not more extremism & fear. It’s not giving up on democracy or throwing your values and neighbors under the bus.

It’s fighting to rebuild democratic resiliency, rejecting binary zero-sum approaches, and demanding nuance and constructive engagement from our leaders.
