hard to believe that in a few short months I'm gonna travel as far as physically possible from Fairdealing, Missouri

(poem from my book, Taphonomy)
Fairdealing Two friends digging holes side by side—one tells the other to dig faster. I’m going to China she says, and the other replies I’m going to Hell. Both of them looking for a way out.

It turns out the tornado me and @mesotography.bsky.social saw near Neelyville/Fairdealing, MO was the same violent EF-4 tornado that originated near Fifty Six, AR. This tornado was on the ground for 119 miles! #wxsky

This was the car my grandparents had when they lived in Kentucky. I have deep memories of it from the late 90s to like 2008.

I would ride in the back-facing seat from their house in Fairdealing to movies in Paducah or to the Thanksgiving dinner we always ate at Patti’s in Grand Rivers.

The DMCA is a U.S. law, but Canadians feel its sting. 🇨🇦 Creators lose content, fair dealing gets ignored, and even fixing your own tech can be blocked. We didn’t vote for it, but we live under it. #cdnpoli #DMCA #FairDealing #DigitalSovereignty

The issue is the 3% digital services tax on Amazon, Meta, Google, etc
- companies extract $billions from our economy and threaten our free and accountable press and thus sovereignty.
Next step is to unhook us from the Clinton’s Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Nicole Morgan (she/her). Herald/aspect/fragment of an elder god who casts herself as a book seller and dealer in secrets both mundane and occult. Trustworthy, fairdealing, and ending the world by faint degrees; the Cthaeh with more patience and less malice.

Art by the wonderful and talented Jill 🖤

It’s always worth specifying who failed the moment. Much like how people whine about “the media” or a given outlet as a blanket term, it undermines insistence on fairdealing when we cooperate by blurring out who specifically exhibits patterns of anti-democracy writing—who should lose good standing.
